Buraca Residence

Buraca

Buraca Residence explores the renovation of a compact apartment in Buraca, Lisbon, designed to accommodate a family of four and the growing need for working from home.

The project focuses on making the most of the available space by rethinking the original layout. Removing selected interior walls creates a more open and connected living environment, bringing the kitchen, dining, and living areas together while preserving the building's original concrete structural elements.

While the shared living areas embrace openness, the private spaces are designed around more clearly defined functions. The main bedroom integrates a dedicated workspace, subtly separated from the sleeping area to establish a distinction between work and rest.

Throughout the apartment, spatial organization and custom furniture solutions help balance the practical needs of everyday family life with a sense of openness and comfort.
